SMAW-D Launch Tubes -- Composite Solutions has recently been awarded an IDIQ contract with NAMMO/Talley Defense Systems for production of the SMAW-D Launch tube system. This contract is an indefinite quantity, indefinite timeframe production contract for a filament wound, Kevlar/epoxy composite tubeset complete with external features such as protruding "lugs" and laser cut slots and holes. The tubes will be filament wound with pre-preg tow and then externally compression molded followed by machining operations. To cut the Kevlar/epoxy composite cleanly, Composite Solutions has added laser cutting equipment to it's already impressive line-up of equipment.
